Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I like the idea…but I’m still a little confused.  So please explain to me one more time…just what is Impact On-Hold and how does it work.

A: Good question and the answer’s really pretty simple.  It all begins with a unique digital audio program which is written, professionally narrated and produced in our studio specifically for your office or business.  Every on-hold program is one of a kind and custom designed for a particular client.  Each program is a combination of on-hold messages and great on-hold music from our licensed music library.  After production, this message and music program is transferred to the digital chip inside the top-quality Impact On-Hold playback equipment in your office or business.  That’s it, and from that point on you’ll be delivering crisp, clear, sales producing, image enhancing, and hang-up avoiding messages to your callers on hold.

Q: You say the Impact On-Hold message playback unit is digital.  Does that mean better?

A: It sure does.  Our digital systems have no moving parts, they deliver excellent and consistent audio quality, and maintenance-free operation, and carry a 3 year warranty.   It’s the end of old-fashioned ‘analog’ equipment with burned out motors, audio tapes that distort or break down, and CD players that quit after too much play.

Q: How often should I update my on-hold messages?

A: You don’t ever want to let your on-hold program get ‘stale’.  Your holding messages should always be current and up to date, and they should tie-in with the promotions or advertising you may be doing.  Frequent promotions or business changes may mean that your holding messages should be changed monthly or even more often.  And even though in some businesses, information remains current it is still a very good practice to periodically, perhaps quarterly update the message and music program in order to make the wait on-hold fresh, new, and always interesting.

Q: What if I just decided to play a radio station?  You know, no messages, just music?

A: You could do that…but it’s risky.  It’s against the law to play a radio station, records, tapes, or CD’s on your telephones without paying royalties to the music industry.

Q: Right!  So let’s forget the radios.  What’s the length of your programs, and how many different messages can I expect with each Impact On-Hold recording that you produce?

A: We can give you programs that range in length from as little as 3 minutes all the way up to 36 minutes.

Q: Will you help us write the messages script for our program?

A: We’ll be glad to help.  As soon as you let us know you’re ready to get started we can send you an easy to use script writing guide which provides valuable suggestions on putting your telephone hold messages together.  And if you need more assistance just send us your script outline and tell us what you want your callers to know we’ll put our writers on the job.  When we’ve finished, we’ll send the on-hold script to you for your approval and then we’ll produce.
